How can your business recruit great employees to come here? How can you entice customers and suppliers to visit your business and see exactly what you have to offer? How can your organization encourage regional or national conferences to meet here in Chautauqua County? The answer to all of these questions is to leverage our extraordinary community assets. Chautauqua County is home to the world renowned Chautauqua Institution and now the National Comedy Center. We are the only place where you will find a center dedicated to the history of former US Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, and a treasure trove of the works of Roger Tory Peterson. Our picturesque Lake Erie shoreline features award winning wineries along a spectacular wine trail. We also offer high quality and easily accessible hotels and conference centers in Dunkirk, Celoron, Clymer, Jamestown, and Mayville. We have educational resources at our fingertips at Jamestown Community College, Jamestown Business College, and the State University College at Fredonia. We have recreational opportunities for all four seasons from golf to skiing. We also have leisure activities from galleries to museums to restaurants too numerous to count. What does all of this mean for your business or organization? It means opportunity. In its first twelve months the National Comedy Center has worked with a number of local businesses and organizations to help coordinate group tours that bring business people together right here in Chautauqua County. Local businesses that want to showcase their wares have brought vendors and customers here for a solid look at what they have to offer, and to see something special that is only available in our community. Chautauqua Institution offers similar opportunities both within its summer programming season and during the off season. Economic development doesn’t happen in a vacuum. All of our community assets working together help to make good things happen here, for tourism, for manufacturing, and for all sectors of our economy. If you’re interested in working with one or more of our major attractions for recruiting, conferences, or meetings to host customers or vendors, you can contact them directly by phone or the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau assists with group tours and functions. We have unique facilities, collections, and architecture that can help to draw a number of your colleagues to our communities. Take advantage of all we have to offer. It makes good business sense.
