The Floating Stage has returned to Chautauqua Lake, greeted by a huge turnout to its first concerts of the season this past week. After a year-long hiatus when the Bemus Bay Pops wrapped up its lengthy run in Bemus Point, the concert series has been reborn as Chautauqua Lake Pops, By the Shore, now located at the northern end of Chautauqua Lake behind the historic railroad depot building in Mayville. The Floating Stage is back with a full line up of exciting programming for this summer season. Chautauqua Lake Pops, By the Shore will feature everything from movie nights to live tribute band performances to an orchestra. The tribute band series will run Fridays, Saturday, and Sundays through the end of August. A series of movie screenings will be held Tuesday evenings at dusk. In addition, the Floating Stage will also be home this year to the FREE Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce summer Entertainment in the Park series on Thursday nights. This series is sponsored annually by the Village of Mayville and Town of Chautauqua and these live performances are free of charge featuring a line-up that offers a wide variety of music including big band, blues, contemporary, country, and more. In case of rain these free concerts will be held at the Carlson Community Center at Lakeside Park. Communities across Chautauqua County are offering high quality outdoor concerts during the summer months, we encourage you to sample the sounds across the County and include the Floating Stage at Mayville as part of your entertainment plans.
