This is a really nostalgic and cute family run place to grab breakfast. You can even dine with their resident kitty who made the rounds and bedded down at one of the table chairs nearby for a snooze. A husband, wife, and their son run the place with the husband doing the cooking and the wife and son doing everything else including bussing, serving, dishes, and seating. They were really hustling.
Unfortunately, the latte I ordered was not the most flavorful start to our morning, and we couldn't figure out why it was so weak. Their brewed coffee was much better.
I had the western omelet and my better half ordered a California bagel egg and bacon sandwich with avocado and cheese. My omelet was overdone, maybe cooked at too high of a temperature, but tasted okay (a second longer and it would have been burnt). The bagel sandwich was good but had a similar issue with the bacon being almost burnt. Maybe that's how they make stuff here? We were starving so we ate every morsel.
We loved the ambiance and the history of the place. It's worth a try if you're in Mayville.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Peter F.Highland Heights, OH207326392Aug 23, 2023
Ambiance was excellent! The cottage vibe was fantastic.
The size of the accommodation was too small so my partner had to sleep on the couch in what amounted to an Abu-Ghraib-style stress position. Note to owner a handle in the shower would be very useful. Loved the amenities though. One of the oddly proportioned rooms appeared to have originally been a utility room appeared to have originally been a Gerry-rigged utility room.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 2, 2023
Found this local gem on our way back from camping at Allegany State Park and heading to Pittsburgh. Very close to Chataqua. Service was great, we were seated outside quickly and food came EXTREMELY fast and plates were huge. Not exactly super cheap but can tell this local place makes their food with a lot of love. Nice to support local and would recommend

Don't just a book by it's cover. Best little breakfast place around. Really cool antiques inside. Food delish. Our group of five had biscuits and gravy, bagel sandwich , Henry's super meat omelet and Sam egg sandwich on wrap. All yummy. So glad we went.

What a gem. We happened to be passing through and did a yelp search for a place to stop and eat. Thank you Yelp. This little cafe was a delight. BLT sandwich on whole grain bread was perfect. Freshly grown tomato- none of that pale red store bought nonsense. Hand cut fries. Delicious. Western omelette was perfect. Fresh ingredients and really tasty but the rye bread was something special. Homemade and probably the best rye bread I've ever tasted. Egg sandwich with avocado and pepperjack was also perfect. So glad we stopped. We can continue our trip satiated and happy. Thanks for a great meal.

Great little spot! Service was amazing and super friendly staff. We had breakfast and perfect pecan pancakes ( huge and couldn't eat them both) The atmosphere is so fun with all kinds of antiques and fun memorabilia to look at.

We love this little spot for breakfast. Always fresh food and friendly service. Charming decor and lovely patio. They are seasonal so be sure to check hours. It is now summer and they are closed on Wednesdays so pick another day and enjoy! You won't be disappointed!
