The Dream It Do It mission is to increase the skilled workforce pipeline entering manufacturing careers. A critical component to bringing that mission to reality in energizing the talent pipeline. Dream It Do It has launched clubs across the region are inspiring young mind and contributing to an energized talent pipeline. In both Cattaraugus County and Chautauqua County Dream It Do It (DIDI) has launched clubs and they are off to a successful start. The clubs are designed to raise awareness of manufacturing and STEM related careers in the region as well as skill requirements, workplaces and educational and career pathways. The clubs will help improve the perception of manufacturing and manufacturing careers. These clubs will help students increase their confidence and purpose in study of STEM related courses. Importantly these clubs will help encourage students to stay in our region to fill career opportunities. In Cattaraugus County approximately 75 girls have signed up to participate in DIDI Girls in Manufacturing Clubs in Olean, Hinsdale, Portville, Cuba-Rushford and Allegany-Limestone. Teachers have developed exciting and varied curricula to introduce girls to careers in advanced manufacturing. These clubs are focused on encouraging girls to expand their skills in science, technology, math and the arts. The club members participate in a wide range activities such as tours, competitions, project work and meetings with female role models from industry.
